LexWalk App Debuts on the App Store
Visitors and residents of Lexington, Ky., now have a wonderful new resource available. Red Pixel Studios and Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today that the LexWalk App is now available for free on the App Store.
Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau developed the LexWalk App with Red Pixel Studios of Owensboro, Ky., as a guide for visitors to follow while exploring downtown Lexington – with a few flicks of their finger using their Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The LexWalk Tour takes users on a journey through Lexington’s illustrious history, highlighting the diversity of architectural styles and the stories behind these noteworthy buildings. The tour starts at Triangle Park, and over the course of a refreshing two-mile walk hits stops at the Mary Todd Lincoln House, Rupp Arena, Henry Clay’s law office and the Lexington Opera House, among others.
Each of the 19 stops on the tour features an audio, video and text descriptions, and an integrated map lets the user see each of the stops and where they are relative to their own location.
“We are excited to have had the opportunity to develop the LexWalk App for Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau,” said Jason Kyle, vice-president, Red Pixel Studios. “We’re also proud to be able to enhance Lexington’s tourism efforts and guide visitors through beautiful and fascinating downtown Lexington.”
The LexWalk App features:
• Welcome Message
• Index of tour stops by map
• Index of tour stops by list
