Kentucky Lake Now Available on the App Store

Visitors and residents of the beautiful Kentucky Lake area now have a valuable resource at their fingertips.  Red Pixel Studios and Marshall County Tourist Commission announced today that the Kentucky Lake App is now available for free on the App Store.

The Marshall County Tourist Commission developed the Kentucky Lake App with Red Pixel Studios of Owensboro, Ky., so that visitors can get information about the popular destination – one of the world’s largest man-made lakes – with a few flicks of their finger using their Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

A product of Red Pixel Studio’s RPS | infoApp solution, the Kentucky Lake App enables users to find out about the area’s many wonderful attractions and recreational opportunities.

The Attractions section provides users a convenient way to find the numerous family-friendly activities in the area, while the Events offer an easy way to know about upcoming performances and events around Kentucky Lake. Travelers can also use the App to learn about places to eat, shop, sleep and, of course, play on Kentucky Lake’s 160,000 surface acres and 2,300 miles of shoreline.

The App also keeps fans up to date with Announcements about Kentucky Lake, so they can be sure to get the latest information and reminders of upcoming happenings.

Considering today’s demand for the most current and up-to-date technology, The Marshall County Tourist Commission wants to offer visitors a convenient way to learn about everything this area has to offer.

“The App really gives us a powerful tool to connect visitors with the Kentucky Lake area and Marshall County,” said Randy Newcomb, Executive Director, Marshall County Tourist Commission.  “It lets us use the latest technology to promote a vibrant community that offers so many opportunities to explore, play and learn.”

The Marshall County Tourist Commission selected Red Pixel Studios to develop the App because they were able to incorporate the numerous features they wanted at a very low cost.

“We developed infoApp as a framework to produce customized, branded Apps for a wide variety of customers,” said Jason Kyle, vice president of Red Pixel Studios. “It’s an extremely flexible and robust system that enables us to quickly and inexpensively develop personalized Apps for tourism destinations, restaurants or nearly any organization.”

“We are excited to have had the opportunity to develop the Kentucky Lake App for the Marshall County Tourist Commission,” said Jason Kyle. “We’re also proud to be able to enhance Kentucky Lake’s tourism efforts and attract visitors to such a wonderful Kentucky destination.”
